Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: May 15, 2026
This page explains how to request deletion of any data Harbor holds about you. It applies whether you're an artist who has signed up for Harbor or a buyer whose information was processed because you interacted with an artist using Harbor (for example, you DM'd them on Instagram or Discord, or you submitted a commission application).
If you're an artist with a Harbor account
You can request deletion of your account and all associated data in two ways:
- Close your account from settings. Sign in to Harbor, go to Settings → Account, and click “Delete account.” Your data is retained for 30 days (in case you change your mind), then permanently deleted. Backups expire within 90 days.
- Email us. Send a deletion request from the email on your account to privacy@harborstudio.ai. We'll confirm your identity, close the account, and complete deletion within 30 days.
If you're an Instagram user whose data Harbor has processed
Harbor processes your Instagram identity and message data on behalf of the artist whose Instagram you DM'd. You have three options to request deletion:
Option 1 — Remove Harbor from your Facebook Apps (recommended)
- Open Facebook on a desktop browser and go to Settings → Apps and Websites.
- Find Harbor in the list of connected apps.
- Click “Remove.”
- Facebook will notify Harbor's data deletion callback automatically. We'll permanently delete your Instagram identity, OAuth tokens, and DM records associated with you within 30 days. Backups expire within 90 days.
Option 2 — Email Harbor directly
Send a request to privacy@harborstudio.ai from the email or Instagram handle you want removed. Include:
- Your Instagram handle (e.g. @yourname).
- The name of the artist you interacted with (if you remember).
- A short note saying you want your data deleted from Harbor.
We'll confirm receipt within 7 days and complete deletion within 30 days. Backups expire within 90 days.
Option 3 — Ask the artist directly
Reach out to the artist you interacted with and ask them to delete your data on their end. Artists can remove your records from their dashboard, which deletes them from Harbor as well.
What gets deleted
- Your Instagram identity (Page-Scoped User ID, profile name).
- All Instagram direct messages you sent that were ingested by Harbor.
- All outgoing replies Harbor sent on the artist's behalf in your thread.
- OAuth tokens tied to your Facebook/Instagram authorization (if any).
- Any application records, payment records, or commission records linked to you.
What is retained for legal reasons
Aggregated, anonymized records of completed commercial transactions are retained to comply with tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. These records cannot identify you personally after deletion is complete.
Other channels
If you interacted with an artist via Discord, email, or another channel rather than Instagram, the same email path applies — write to privacy@harborstudio.aiand we'll delete your data from that channel within 30 days.
Confirmation
When deletion completes, we'll send a confirmation email to the address you contacted us from (or a Meta-generated confirmation code if your request came through the Facebook Apps and Websites flow).
